Autumn in Texas

Last year at this time, I was driving around New England with my husband, capturing images of the fall foliage which was just beginning, enjoying marvelous food and a much needed break from reality. Little did I know all that would transpire in the year to come, and had I know, I would more than likely have found a nice quiet B&B to closet myself away in with my camera, my computer and simply shut the world out! It's been quite a year!

Filled with the good and bad, this year has seen the death of my father, multiple surgeries, treatments and therapies for my sweet granddaughter, my daughter's separation and pending divorce from her new husband .... so much pain and struggle, more heartache than I thought at times I could bear.

Yet, also so much joy as we watch Jaylee grow into a very typical 2 year old, minus the speaking part! She continues to be a delight and amazement in my life, and I can't wait to see how the Lord continues to bring miracles into her life.

Over the months, it has become increasingly obvious that I cannot keep up the pace I have tried to keep since her birth. I am now her primary caregiver as my daughter pursues nursing school, so it's a 24/7 - 6 day per week delightfully exhausting job! It is one thing to care for this energetic, spunky, intelligent toddler and meet all her medical, educational and therapeutic needs. It is quite another to manage her care ... working with insurance companies, physicians, keeping track of records, etc. To do both, AND keep this photography business growing is clearly impossible at this point in time. It's simply too much for me at this point.

So, while the website will remain active in its present form until the end of the year, I will not be accepting assignments or customers for the rest of the year. I need this time desparately to focus on Jaylee at this critical time in her life. My camera and talents will wait; she will not.

As time permits, I will be continuing my educational goals photographically, and working on the book I plan to publish "Life at Stage Left ... Memoirs of the Ninja Image Maker" (or something like that anyway!). My father never gave up my talent, neither shall I. It's just postponed for a bit.
